Answers

1. What is The Boarding Bungalow?

The Boarding Bungalow is a family owned and operated facility with spacious suites in a safe and clean environment for your pets to stay and play. We designed the Bungalow a cut above the rest – no bacteria-harboring chain link kennels, tight boarding quarters, cramped unsupervised daycare rooms, obnoxious odors or an inconvenient out of the way location.

“The Bungalow” is the perfect vacation destination for all your pets. Our experience and dedication to giving your pets the attention and care they need during their stay will allow you to relax and enjoy your time away.

We offer boarding for a variety of pets including dogs, cats and most cages animals, including but not limited to birds, ferrets, hamsters, rabbits, hermit crabs, etc. *

2. How is The Boarding Bungalow different from the boarding kennel or vet I use now for my pet?

  • We have an all-suite facility with affordable pricing
  • We offer private playtimes to ensure the safety of your pets
  • Our caregivers are hand-picked for their love of pets
  • Our facility was designed with safety in mind
  • We cater to your pets every need

Prison vs. Paradise

When you go on vacation think about where and with whom you are entrusting your pets. Are you comfortable leaving them with just the bare minimum (prison) or do you feel they deserve a vacation just like you (paradise)?

Here are a few things to consider when choosing care for your pets while you’re away.

5. Can I pick up or drop off my pets on a holiday?

Yes, with the exception of Easter, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day when our lobby is closed. We close the lobby at 4:00pm on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve as well.

6. What time is check-out?

Our check-out time is anytime before 1:00 pm. If you need to pick up after 1:00 pm you will be charged the half-day rate.

You may pick up you pets after hours if you arrange it in advance. There will be a $15 after hours fee charged. Please note this may not always be available. We have to keep the safety of our guests and employees priority number one.

7. How often is each suite cleaned?

We don't believe our pet guests can be safe and comfortable in a dirty room. So each of our suites are cleaned daily. In addition, all suites are inspected throughout the day and cleaned whenever needed.

8. Where do you take the dogs during walks?

Dogs are walked throughout the day in our exercise yard and on a grassy area which is totally fenced in and secure behind the bungalow.

9. How long do the dogs walk?

The walks are approximately 10- 20 minutes long so that the dogs can stretch their legs and have plenty of time to relieve themselves.

10. Do you board aggressive pets?

If your pet is aggressive towards other pets, they can board with us. However, for the safety of our staff, if we believe that your pet may be aggressive towards people, we will advise you that we are not the best place for your pet to stay.

11. What type of security do you have?

Your pet's safety and comfort are our primary responsibilities. We have designed every part of our facility to insure a safe and secure stay.

  • We monitor all of our guests throughout their stay to ensure their comfort and safety
  • Whenever a dog is out of its suite, he/she is on a leash - whether he/she is going on a walk or being taken to private playtime.
  • In addition, we have a security system monitoring service after hours.

12. Can you accommodate special dietary needs for dogs and cats staying at The Boarding Bungalow?

While we highly recommend you proivde your own food for the comfort of your pets, our house brand is Iams for both our canine and feline guests*. We can accommodate any special diets a guest might have. If you have a special food just bring the food with you and provide us with directions.

13. Are vaccinations required before a dog or cat can stay at The Boarding Bungalow?

Yes, please click here to see our vaccination requirements.

14. Can I call in to check on my pet?

We encourage you to call or email us to check on your pet.

15. If my pets have a medical emergency does The Boarding Bungalow have access to an emergency vet?

Your pet's health and safety are of highest importance to us and we have established procedures to ensure that we are ready if a pet experiences a health situation while in our care. Should your pet need veterinary care, we take your pet to our neighborhood vet. For after hours, we would take your pet to an emergency veterinary facility.

16. I have never boarded my pet before. Should I worry?

Relax. You can feel confident and worry-free about your decision to place your pets in our care. As pet owners ourselves, we know boarding your pet is typically much more stressful for you than your pets. We've taken every measure to ensure you have peace of mind that your pets will be safe, loved and have a great time while in our care.

17. Besides when I vacation, what are some other occasions when I could use The Boarding Bungalow?

There are lots of times when we can help. Here are a few suggestions (but, we know after you try us, you'll think of more occasions to come visit):

  • Business travel
  • Holidays, birthday parties, other special events
  • Allergic house guests
  • Work done to the house (i.e., carpets or pool being cleaned, sprayed for bugs)
  • Showing the house for sale/moving
  • A new baby in the house; your pet (and YOU) need time to adjust

* There is a $1.00 fee for each meal provided if you wish to use the house brand food - Iams.
